First off, my personal favorite, AU SAAAAABBBLLLEE.

Au Sable is 8bit at its best. This is an 8bit horror game. No seriously, I wouldn't have believed it until I tried it myself, this game creeped the heck out of me. All of Our Friends Are Dead is also good, but I haven't made it very far in that one yet.

Next, we have Noitu Love 2.

This one however, is not free, but the demo is. The game runs fast paced, great action, but the non-stop spawning enemies are a little annoying. All the programming is excellent though, the game feels quality.

Legend of Princess. This is Zelda re-imagined as a hack'n'slash sidescroller. The game looks weird, but there's a lot of depth in the graphics.

Tripline.
One of those simple and fun puzzle games thats hard to stop playing.

n.
Epiphany of fun. And also, insanely hard in the later levels.

Machinarium Demo.
I grew up playing point and click adventures such as Freddi the Fish, Pajama Sam, and Putt Putt, so when I started the demo of this, I was nostalgilized, and blown away. This game is freaking awesome. The puzzles are tough as nails, but that only makes it greater.

Knytt, an incredibly unique and fun little platformer.

Cave Story. One of those games thats so good, it gets released on Wiiware, Xbox LIVE Arcade, or the Playstation Network.

Actually it's only my first project that I made in DarkGDK :) it's still kinda interesting though. The background is not mine, it was included in the DarkGDK basic 2D game, but I made everything else, including the awesome background music.
